The homepage features welcoming photos of people with Down syndrome interacting with caregivers and researchers, bold headings like “Join more than 200 people like you driving breakthroughs,” and sections explaining the study, Alzheimer’s disease in Down syndrome, and the participation process.June marked Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, and we’ve been reflecting on the important work of our partner, the University of Pittsburgh’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, a lead site in the Alzheimer Biomarkers Consortium–Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) study.

This five-year, multi-site study tracks adults with Down syndrome to detect early signs of Alzheimer’s using brain scans, blood tests, and cognitive exams—offering critical insights into aging and memory loss.

To support the study, Wondros created a user-informed website shaped by interviews with researchers and participants, featuring updates, educational content, and data access for the research community. We also developed recruitment materials tailored to people with Down syndrome, informed by conversations with community members and caregivers.

At Wondros, we’re proud to use creativity to support groundbreaking research.
